Casino Cruise

22nd December marked another small turning point in my life.i first entered a casino ship, first time played jackpot(only once cause its really a fraud i think, how can we ever win sth thats already preplanned), first caucasian friend... all is really fate... gosh, he's rather cute... haha, the whole of the trip is about edwardo,edwardo..... (think thats how to spell it)

i do not recommend this cruise to anyone who isn't interested in gambling. really.. it took us about 1.5 hours to get there. we took a ship from tanah merah to this small indonesian port and went on to take another ship to the cruise out on international sea which i think is actually rather near to Singapore since i still have reception at times. so why bother going all the way to indonesia....?! i feel so cheated. especially when i spend only an hour to go around the ship, ate lunch, and spent the next 2 hours sleeping in the lounge. after that went on to the canteen again cause my ah ma wanna get some drinks. thats where i met him....
its all really fate.....

the canteen was very empty since its already 2plus. i saw this ang mo sitting by the window, and since i wanted a seat by the window i took the table beside his. he is the only non-asian onboard, sitting beside this chinese auntie, later known to me to be alice. i was drinking milk that didn't taste like milk, so poured myself a warm cup of coffee. think i was making a fool of myself, warming my hands with the hot steam... and acting so bored. as usual, aunties tend to end up talking even when they were all strangers. alice and my ah ma ended up talking. and eventually i joined in. we all discovered that i am studying in nus... and he too is studying in nus. or rather he was studying in nus. this cute guy who looked a little like tom cruise have amber eyes, very clear and nice eyes with long eye lashes... he came from the eastern coastal france to singapore for an exchange program doing his masters in business and computing. he's supposed to return on 3rd dec, but decided to postphone to 24th, during which he went to thailand, cambodia and malaysia. since today is his last day allowed to stay in PGP, he went over to stay at alice's place in tampines. and today he and alice came on the cruise(supposedly along with alice's JC1 son, but due to passport expiry he didn't make it).they're staying overnight onboard, and alice offered us a room to stay overnight with them too.. to keep him company since she thinks edwardo will be bored.grinz.oh, alice's elder son is in nus now in Arts Fac, but i'm not sure which year and which major. who cares?! tmr, he's going to chinatown after he gets back to mainland singapore.we didn't talk much at the canteen though.

alice is a regular there, think she sensed that we're not familiar there and are truely bored, she volunteered to bring us around. first stop - casino. wow... learned to play some games, and realised alice is really a old gingr.lao jiang. thats when we talked. topic = gambling dens and the games. blackjack, russian wheels etc... alice offered drinks. he took beer, offered me too, but knowing what will happen should i accept it... nope, no no.after that we left the casino, went to the pub upstairs.its outdoor, and the sea view is really nice. once i peeped overboard, and he joked why don't you jump? haha, i should have said "you jump i jump" haha. the puib was empty no deeja etc, all are busy preparing for a crew party tonight.so we went down to the ktv lounge thinking they'll be hosting a show soon. but its already ended, so the two of us sat there and chatted while ahma and alice went around. hee. i really learnt alot abt france and the culture from him. however its mainly abt christmas. can see that he's really looking forward to spending it back in france. oh did i mention he's going to chinatown to shop tmr?

i dreaded it when time creeps slowly towards 5pm. my grandma came down to get me upstairs for dinner and get ready to leave. i suggested we (edwardo and me)to move along to the casino to look for alice while my grandma goes to canteen to meet my grand aunt there. i really don't want it to end so early. this time at the casino, we sat by the standing bar. he ordered the red wine. and we started on the topic of red wine and beer. he is so well versed in the field. during the holidays back in france he and his friends actually organise trips to the wine caves to test wine. for each stop, they are able to taste more than 10 different wine. but the wine they offer onboard was "so bad he couldn't differentiate it, i'm not sure its australia or france" back home, he's able to tell the province the wine is manufactured by tasting it. wow wow!!oh have i mentioned that he's 24, and he's completed his masters and he will be working abroad in a french bank. a good french bank he said. and he knows how to speak english, french, german. english being his most disliked language. it seems that french normally don't like english cause of their history. why can't french be the common language? when they like england have many colonies too.why?? i feel personally that french is such a beautiful language, and french people have very very nice and sharp features. oh, he likes hiking too, thats what i observed.

after that i left, left the casino, went to canteen had dinner when he came in but we didn't have chance to talk at all. i left to collect the passport and then went on to the small ship on my way home to singapore. before i left the casino, we shook hands.. a warm hand shake. no electrifying feeling like in the past. but its a warm feeling. he's scared of cold after living in singapore for half a year. we didn't exchange any form of contact etc. sigh, i should have!!!! sigh!! at least give him my number. and maybe i can join him tmr for the chinatown trip. or can be pen-pals.

on my way back, i can't help thinking, sigh, if only i got his contact. if only this, if only that.... sigh....
what if instead of a handshake, its a peck on the cheek? what if i did join him to drink, he would have felt much closer to me since in their culture drinking is part of their daily life.....
isn't it fate? if my grand-aunt didn't ask my grandma to join her last night, i wouldn't have gone along. if we hadn't gone back for tea after a nap, we wouldn't have sat next to them and we wouldn'thave talked. if alice's son was here, he wouldn't have been bored and sat there to eat and talk with alice and i wouldn'thave a chance to talk to him. he's from france, on exchange, studied in schoolof computing for 6 months, the faculty just opposite mine! but we've never met. he postphoned his trip home! he....... haha. i'm going crazy... sigh.. a short and sweet memory.

wonder if he's a good french kisser....
